manscombe
The bold architectural interventions into the existing building are crowned by a dynamic canopy and fully glazed enclosure to maximise the potential offered by the panorama of Torbay. The sinuous curves of the canopy were developed with the project Architect and the structural skeleton digitally analysed, modelled and templated by MLDE. The timber canopy is supported around its perimeter by custom-shaped structural double-glazed glazing units. The system is pre-stressed and anchored with a set of stainless steel cables down onto the exposed steelwork.
