Initial Spacial Model
A new school and community college for approx 1650 pupils, completed in the Autumn of 2009. The design includes five interlocking buildings under a curved green roof which gives the impression of the school rising out of the hillside and improving the ecological value of the development.

The centre-piece of the design is a 3-storey reinforced concrete library block known as 'The Atrium'. The curved external envelope of this block, combined with double height spaces, 'hanging walls' and cantilevered floor slabs posed an exciting engineering challenge, with a striking architectural impact at the heart of the project.
